After the Leafblad’s saw a couple of PHI Decks go up in their neighborhood they contacted us to help them design an outdoor living space for them.  They had seen a couple of screen porch designs that they liked that used a large shed style roof and wanted to incorporate this into their design.  Their other design criteria included maintaining their view of the wetland behind their house as well as the view of downtown Minneapolis on a clear day as well as constructed of the highest quality materials possible. 

The design we came up with includes a large deck out the door from the kitchen with cable rails to keep the view as open as possible.  The deck then steps down 2 steps onto a catwalk that brings the cable railing below the kitchen windows so that the view they have come to love isn’t at all obstructed.  This catwalk leads into a very roomy screen porch with 9′ high window openings and a 17′ ceiling height at the tallest point.  The decking material is low maintenance TimberTech Legacy decking with Feeney Cable rails.  The interior of the porch is finished off with prefinished  SmartSide trim and a clear coated Douglas Fir tongue and groove ceiling.  The owners couldn’t be happier and had this to say “Thanks Tim and PHI Decks for a great experience and beautiful new deck and porch.  We 200% endorse PHI Decks!!!”
